The Effectiveness and Valuation of Using Silt Pit to Reduce Erosion and Nutrient Loss of Andosol

The silt pit is a method of soil management that functions to accommodate and absorb surface runoff. research aimed determine the effectiveness for erosion reduction nutrient loss. located at 576 above sea level (asl) in Sukamantri village, Taman Sari district, Bogor Regency. experiment used randomized block design with three replications slope group. treatments were R0 (without pit); R1 (silt R2 + mulch); R3 mulch biopore tube), R4 tube vertical crop tube). highest runoff-decreasing occurred on treatment, which pressed down 29.38% value erosion-decreasing as 68.74% followed by reducing loss 71% Organic C, 76% available P, 67% total N. dry seeds peanut yield was around 0.54 - 0.86 Mg ha-1, dried pods 0.96 1.33 biomass 5.16 6.23 ha-1 not significantly different between all treatments. This study recommends farmers apply innovation technology combination mulch, biopore, mature green media because incremental B/C ratio 1.175. It good economic indicator farmers.
